Hello and Welcome! My name is George Rose. I live near Boston in the Metrowest region of Massachusetts.

I've been a photo enthusiast since the early 1990's and have been wholeheartedly enjoying digital photography since 2001. What I enjoy most from photography is it gives me an excuse to strike out on adventures to learn about new places and capture images that tell the story of my journey. I enjoy photographing the many beautiful places throughout New England; from the small parks near my house to gorgeous locations like Mount Washington, Monhegan Island and Bar Harbor. I love to find unique aspects of places I visit, whether it be a doorway or window to a house, standing water behind a building or a moss-covered rock that looks like a chia-head. Photography also gives me a great excuse to share time with my family who also like to join me on these little adventures.

At the encouragement of family and friends I've created this web site as a way to share my photographs. Iíve started with about 120 pictures but the collection will be growing quickly as I sift through all of my digital pictures and scan my 35mm negatives.

For photo equipment, I started with the Nikon N50 SLR back in 1994 and although it was a good camera the film development costs quickly became a barrier for me to lots of pictures. I then turned to digital photography in 2001 and fell in love with the powerful and compact Nikon Coolpix 4300. It took great pictures and was nice and small for carry around on trips. Unfortunately, after about 18,000 pictures, the sensor on the camera died. Today, Iím using the Nikon D80 SLR. Itís a wonderful camera that takes great pictures, and performs very well. Iím also using the Olympus SP500UZ for light camera work. Itís a nice camera that produces good pictures and it has decent manual control of all camera settings.

If you have a question or comment for me, please don't hesitate to drop me a line using my contact page.
